Founder & CEO
Emilyn Candelaria has been a successful entrepreneur for over 30 years. After successfully acquiring real estate rental properties in New York, she retired and currently operates Emilia Properties and a successful E-commerce business.
Emilyn holds a BA in Business and a degree in Psychology and Nursing. She has managed dental offices in California, New York, and Las Vegas, two of which are startups—well experienced in in-patient care, customer service, and staff management.
Opening Shields Manor V.I.P Assisted care for the Disabled & the Elderly is a vision for a safe, trustworthy haven for her special needs son. Her personal concerns for the future of her son has made Shields Manor a reality.
Hands-on hard work and true dedication in realizing her vision for the ideal caregiving place, embodies her dedication and focus on security and extraordinary VIP caregiving.
Chief of Operations
Jhoanna Maranan graduated from Adamson University with a BS in Commerce and Business Management. She has over 20 years of business management and staff training.
Having managed businesses in the Philippines and abroad, Jhoanna has gained experience, leadership, interpersonal and organizational abilities to exceed anyone's expectations.
Shields Manor is fortunate and blessed to have her help lead our onsite operations as our Chief of Operations.
Joan currently owns
a catering and baking business, "Jdlfoodhouz," with a 5-star review rating. Her delicious and nutritious recipes are the backbone of our clients' dining menu.
Jhoanna enjoys cooking, baking, and expanding her culinary skills by sampling cuisines and recipes from different parts of the world.
Finance Director & Business Consultant
Dorothea "Doris" Cura. Doris has over 20 years of experience in Business Administration and Accounting. Obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Santo Tomas, Doris is a highly qualified Certified Public Accountant.
Certified in Business Management and Human Resources, she has established her footprint in the business world. Along with her partners, Doris also heads Consignia Logistics Corp.
Her relentless dedication for success will help guide Shields Manor financially to help us help those in need.
Doris is an avid collector of rare plants and cacti. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Senior Operations & Business Consultant
Theodore "Ted" Chant III has been involved in special needs patient care for over 29 years.
Ted has over 35+ years of managing business operations experience. As a Controller, he is familiar with all aspects of business, from financials to human resourcing and staff management.
Shields Manor is a shared vision to build a protected, enjoyable environment for those that require extra care, like the elderly and disabled.
Ted's compassion for excellent and reliable patient care is the driving force behind Shields Manor.
Ted is an avid wildlife and macro photographer. He loves the concept of family and hopes to instill that valuable concept at Shields Manor.
Associate Business Consultant
Divina "Dee" DeLeon is a 12-year U.S. Military Veteran. Her past experiences include
Supervising U.S. Naval Hospital Patient Management and Security. Patient Care, and is a Licensed NY Emergency Medical Technician.
She is Certified in Business management, Lean Six Sigma Project Management. Trained in Force protection, System networking/engineering and integration, Information Technology, and cyber security. Owner/Operator of "BIB Home Repair LLC." in N.Y.
We hope her relentless dedication to duty and success continues to grow as she helps lead Shields Manor into the 2020s remotely from New York City.
Divina enjoys traveling, reading, and outdoor activities with her son, Aiden.
